This is something I wrote to help my godchild in his
time of grief for the loss of his best friend.
Friends are very special
They stay with you through thick and thin.
Even when you're not near them
They know who's their "true" friend.
Sometimes life throws things our way
No one can explain how or why.
But keeping someone close to your heart
Keeps them "alive" when they die.
Never stop living your life
Based on actions others intend to do.
Just remember only he knew the reason why
But he'll still be living through you.
Life is tough and hard at times
You feel as though "Will this pain ever end?"
It'll get easier with time, you'll never forget
Just be grateful you had him as your friend.
Sometimes we don't say these words enough
Maybe somtimes that's all we need to hear.
Remember we love you and care for you
Have no doubts, we do need you here.
Christopher, the world right now may feel
As though some how it will end.
It won't, I promise, I've been there before
Just know how lucky he was to have you as a best friend.
I love you and I wish I could be there for you. You are always in
my heart. Be strong and take it day by day. I always felt like I was being tested by God when Uncle John
died to see how strong I could be. I made it this far, it wasn't easy, but I did it. I have faith in you
and I know you'll be ok. If you need anything, remember I'm here and I'll do my best to help. We're family and
we stand by each other through good times and bad. Don't ever forget that. Love Always, Nanny
